As the first booted from the 19th season in Samoa, Marisa Rhy (previously Calihan) had no idea she would be part of Survivor history. Originally siding with super villain Russel Hantz, Marisa caught on to his scheming ways and decided to go against him, becoming the first in a long line of bodies left behind by one of the most popular contestant in the history of the show. Despite going home first, Marisa still came away from Samoa with some amazing experiences, and currently finds herself living on the other side of the world in the Netherlands.
Starting off siding with the deceptive Russell it was looking likely to be a good move for Marisa to make it deep in the game. However as somebody who wasn’t shy in standing up for her opinions and making her voice heard, she spoke out against him and this would ultimately lead to her demise. There was more conflict too from the brash Ben Browning who Marisa found more annoying and harder to live with then Russell himself.
In our interview with Marisa, she speaks about living in the Netherlands and her amazing world travels, why Natalie deserved to win her season more than anyone else, being recognised when she comes home to the States, the fans she had after her boot as well as the crazed obsessed people who thought they could do better and why her time in Samoa was one of the most amazing times of her entire life.
