Survivor Cagayan Power Rankings with Billy Garcia & Kelly Shinn – Week 10

For the 28th season of Cagayan we will be once again bringing you our weekly POWER RANKINGS as Ben & Jarryd rank the contestants each week based on performance and strategy and where they are perceived to be in the game! This season we also welcome two special guest POWER RANKERS with Billy Garcia from Survivor Cook Islands Kelly ‘Purple Kelly’ Shinn joining in the fun and help rank the contestants! We continue our rankings for another week with our episode 11 rankings, which we are sure will cause speculation and debate as we get closer to next weeks episode!

Each week Ben, Jarryd, Billy & Kelly will rank the remaining contestants based their opinion of where they stand in the game, with the four totals being tallied to produce a total score . The lowest total score will be ranked at the top, with the second lowest in second, third lowest in third and so on and so forth. Each week the overall list will be published, separated into three tribes. It will combine into one list once the tribes merge (or two should there be a tribe dissolve).

1st – Spencer

OVERALL: 1st (+3)

BILLY: “Once again our favourite chess player has gone from the outhouse to the penthouse. Spencer is the Harry Houdini of Survivor. He’s been such an underdog the whole season we really haven’t seen him play villain much, just in little moments here and there. His fate is still reliant on Tony but he’s playing a great game and has given himself the best shot he can hope for all things considered. On that note, it was a great lie to sway Tony. It’s a page right out of Tony’s playbook! It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Spencer might convince Tony to take him to the end.”

KELLY: “He just made it through yet ANOTHER situation – he is definitely our season winner.”

BEN: “Played a brilliant game this episode in putting the fear into Tony enough that he flipped and at the same time saving himself. Hasn’t pissed anyone off, is likeable and underrated in challenges. Between him and Tasha, they are just going along nicely despite being on the outs now for close to a month. Tony will come back to regret not voting him out when he should’ve, and the two brains are probably all that is stopping Tony going on to win this game.”

JARRYD: “He’s still hanging off the edge and clinging on by a few fingers but he’s playing a very good game for somebody so young. His performances at Tribal Council in the past few episodes have been masterful and Jury wise, he doesn’t have many enemies, which makes him far to dangerous to take to the end. Spencer’s hope is to solidify an alliance or rely on challenges to win his way to becoming a millionaire. If anyone can do it, I think Spencer can.”

2nd – Tony

OVERALL: 2nd (-1)

BILLY: “Time to toot my own horn! I was right again about Tony, Spencer, Tasha, AND Jefra in my last rankings. Tony orchestrated yet another blindside last episode. This time against Jefra. He’s got two idols and three Tribal Councils to go before the FTC. One of those Idols doesn’t have to be played until after the votes are read. So guess what? Tony is NOT going to get blindsided much less booted no mater if everyone turns against him next episode. The only chance the players have to get him out is at the final immunity challenge. That’s not next episode. So here’s another week of Tony being top dog in my rankings! And on a side note, enough with the “winners” edit BS I’ve been reading all over the internet this season( and every season for that matter.) This season has been so unpredictable that it’s safe to say that there is NO winners edit this season. Good! I hope the Survivor powers that be continue this practice in all future seasons. Thumbs up to the editing this season from a former Survivor who scoffs at the way he was edited.”

KELLY: “How has he even made it this far? someone please explain this to me.”

BEN: “Tony is guaranteed final 4 unless he pulls a James Clement, but somehow I don’t see that happening. I also somehow don’t see Tony having an impossible chance at winning like some people do. For sure he is making enemies, but he also has people that will vote for him. Spencer has said he would vote for him as well as Tasha, and you also look at Jeremiah and LJ as people who can throw a vote his way. If Woo is also on the jury then you could see him throwing a vote and Jefra took that vote a lot better than some might’ve been expecting. So I don’t think it is at all impossible for him to win. However if it’s a final 3 and he is next to Spencer and Tasha, he won’t win. And that’s how I see it happening at this point.”

JARRYD: “If he doesn’t make the Final Four from here with two Idol’s in his pocket, (including a special one), he’s a bigger idiot than James. You don’t even have to look at the confessionals to know he’s been the biggest character this season. On top of that, he’s playing a very good game, however, some of his moves are questionable. Needs to remain accountable and explain his actions if he makes the Final Tribal Council otherwise he won’t win.”

3rd – Tasha

OVERALL: 3rd (+4)

BILLY: “I love how Tasha is just owning the challenges against guys like Woo and Spencer who are suppose to be challenge monsters. She’s got game in all areas and remains my dark horse to win. But make no mistake, if she loses an immunity challenge, she’ll be booted ASAP! Tasha must continue to win immunity in order to stay in the game. But she knows this so, look out record books!”

KELLY: “As much as I would like to see Tony leave at this point – I’m sad to say I think Tasha is next. the girls are dropping.”

BEN: “Three immunity wins make Tasha the first ever African American to win three immunities in not only a season, but overall in the history of the show. An amazing stat that has to be pointed out. And it also goes to show her as a challenge beast and is also only one immunity win away from joining the elite club of Kim Spradlin, Kelly Wiglesworth and Jenna Morasca as four time female immunity winners in a season. Stats aside, the girl just keeps on going and despite still technically being on ‘the outs’ with Spencer, she has Tony pissing people off enough that she is becoming very useful with Spencer. Keep going girl!”

JARRYD: “I’ve been saying it for weeks and weeks; she’s playing a bad game. She’s been lucky in a few challenges, which have increased her stay in the game, but once again, she survived because Spencer made a move in her favour. Sure, she hung around with the girls, but Spencer planted the seeds and made the alliance crumble. Big social threat and shown she can compete in challenges but she’s well past her use by date in the game.”

4th – Kass

OVERALL: 4th (+1)

BILLY: “Well, after flipping on Spencer and Trish to go with Tony,  Tony has flipped on Kass to go with Spencer and Trish. Am I the only one that sees the irony in this? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. No point in being sour. If you live by the sword, you die by the sword. I think Kass is still a good goat to take to the end but my instincts tell me she’s next. Kass would have to be dragged to the end kicking and screaming and that’s just risky. Neither Tony, Spencer, nor Tasha should take that risk….and they won’t!”

KELLY: “Keeping her here in the final three – her edit is too great to not have made it to the final episode.”

BEN: “I still see a real outside chance of a random and shocking Kass win but her edit is knuckling down to being snarky and against Spencer. Is that setting us up for a bitter jury speech at the end? Possibly. I think that her best bet at making it to the end is flipping back with her original Brains and taking out the Brawns, but that is very unlikely.”

JARRYD: “For me, Kass has done nothing in this game to even hint that she deserves to win. She’ll be a very popular candidate to take along to the finals because she has made enemies and isn’t played the house down socially. Add in the fact she isn’t threating in challenges and has showed a lack of good strategic skills and you’ll understand why she’s still in the game. ”

5th – Trish

OVERALL: 5th (-2)

BILLY: “I’m sure Trish’s fans are gonna cry foul for me dropping her so low in my rankings this week, and for 2 out of the last 3 weeks, but she’s getting left out of a lot of the big decisions lately. Tony just did it to Trish again last episode. He blindsided Jefra out of the game and Trisha and Kass out of the majority. She’s played well but Tony has been so aggressive that Trish has been out maneuvered and is in jeopardy this coming week.”

KELLY: “Neither here nor there at this moment – but think Kass will gun for her eventually here soon.”

BEN: “Another week another unflattering episode for Trish. All we saw from her this week was her being hungry and talking about Spencer being skinny. If that’s a ‘winners edit’ then I will eat my hat. The woman is funny I will give her that, and she had some pearlers of quotes this episode and last week to boot. But her so called ‘strategic game’ has flat lined and I don’t see any paddles to shock it back into action anytime soon.”

JARRYD: “Playing an underrated game, which I don’t think contestants are seeing the impact of until watching the season back on television. Unfortunately, I think she’s been set up all season to be in Tony’s pocket which will come back to bite her in the coming weeks. Still a big chance to get to the finals where she won’t pull the amount of votes she probably deserves to receive.”

6th – Woo

OVERALL: 6th (-4)

BILLY: “Once again we see in the previews that Woo is feeling the pressure that I’ve been voicing in my rankings every week. He hasn’t built enough of a resume to win. Woo must make a big move to have a chance at the FTC. He played sidekick to Tony again this past episode but is looking to make a move the next episode. If he fails, which I think he will because of the super power idol, it’s not the end of Woo’s game, just the end of his chances to build a winning resume. I’ll say it again. Woo looks like a solid second place.”

KELLY: “Too great to not be final three – it is just that simple :)”

BEN: “Again, I still see a real outside shot of Woo winning but he will need to pull out some massive move and do it soon. Has some of the best reactions in the history of the show and still one hell of a crowd favourite, but he will have to be more than a ninja to get that million dollars.”

JARRYD: “He can win because he’s so likeable but he can’t win because he doesn’t seem to have impacted the game and has had his decisions made for him. He’s the Caleb from last season, great guy, zero chance of winning. Unfortunately will be picked off before others who deserve to be sent home because of his likeability.”

Our next Power Rankings will be up after the 12th episode! What do you think of our rankings? Agree? Disagree? Let us know your thoughts below!

15 Comments on Survivor Cagayan Power Rankings with Billy Garcia & Kelly Shinn – Week 10

  1. How has Tony made it this far in the game? Are you watching this season?
But seriously, this season has been so great, when was the last time it got to the final 6 and a case could be made for all six to win. My personal rankings would be
    1. Tasha- friends with everyone, dominating challenges
    2. Tony- playing harder than anyone
    3. Trish- best social game next to tasha and made good moves
    4. Spencer- underdog, friends on jury, but still a big target.
    5. Kass- high chance to make it the end but jury votes? Maybe she can conjure up her lawyer skills in FTC
    6. Woo- only chance he’s got is being at the end without Tasha or Spencer and with a very bitter jury. Fabio factor?

Loving this season. This is why I watch survivor!

  2. Uhm sorry to burst your bubble kelly but TONY IS GUARANTEED AT LEAST FINAL 4 SO HE CANT BE 5TH. DUH. He have a special idol he can play next episode & final 5 is the last day he can use the regular hii. I’d say Tony should be 1st with the rank. He’s jut being cautious with an all girls alliance and I def see his point. I still think Spencer or Tasha will leave next episode. Tony for sure is thinking jury votes rn. Kass/Trish/Woo better think twice b4 splitting with Tony. It would be very stupid to let the 2 tight brainiacs too long b4 its too late! Not after all being in the majority! Damn its gonna be a disaster if they mess this up! Spencer is kinda OVERRATED. I’d rather see Tash win actually If not Tony 🙂 So happy Morgan is not visible that much on ponderossa videos lol. Such a bitch! Hate her superficial nasty attitude.

  3. Ugh why does Jarryd hate on Tasha so much? The girl is playing a strong physical and social game. Ok she’s missing some strategy but let’s not forget her early moves when she led the Brain tribe. I think the winner this season has to be Tony, Spencer or Tasha and even more so, all deserve to be double players. Tasha has been my season favorite from the start and if all three of them make it to the end it may as we’ll be one of the best final tribal councils the show has seen.

    Dear Jarryd,

I really, really hope Tasha makes it to the end. You are the ONLY ranker not to have placed her in the top 2 at some point. I mean commmeee on. She made some great moves (for herself, not necessarily her tribe) in the first few weeks, and she’s recognized widely as a legitimate social threat. She’s done well in challenges, and I don’t know how you can chalk those all up to luck; personally, I disagree. And as far as last week’s vote goes, Spencer’s plan wouldn’t have worked if Tasha weren’t pretending to work the girls. That was a conscious move on her part, and her and Spencer’s collective efforts saved them both.

All that being said, I totally respect your opinions. I think you have a great eye for the game. But I just don’t understand the consistent underestimation of Tasha. If she makes it to the final five, I’d definitely recommend reconsidering it.

  5. Oh my god. Jarryd’s analysis is laughable, like always.

    • I think Jarryd’s analysis is the best of all 4. A bit off on Tasha, but otherwise very accurate analyses of the other 5 contestants in my opinion

      • Actually Billy has some pretty good comments too, its a toss up between those two for me.

  6. Fck the haters Jarryd! ❤ I actually love your ranks the most. Dont even ask me who was the worst coz its damn obvious 😛 I personally like Tasha as the challenge beast but I kinda agree that she haven't really solidified her position in the game to actually be the top dog lately. If she stopped her winning streak she may go home next or maybe she can prove me wrong til I see the next episode. Tasha will be a worthy winner though for this great season. But Tony totally takes the cake. Haters just bash him coz he's that good thus far. Tony does damage control way better than Russell Hantz. Russell tweets mean things to Tony & it irritates me as if he ever won already. He claims Tony copying him is absurd coz Tony is way more nicer around camp & more calculating! Spencer also have a winner's edit & if it happened I would be very impressed. He would be the most underdog winner ever 🙂 Trish, Woo or Kass winning would be disappointing as a fan but if its among these 3. I hope its Trish. Cant believe its almost the finale! I still hope for more blindside soon 😉

  7. Jarryd, fuck you. I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that your comments about Tasha are being posted on multiple sites, being laughed at and ridiculed 🙂

  8. tony should be number one but 2 is ok. tony would be stupid to not think of spencer as his biggest threat and thats the funny thing about it. i think he underestimates him. he just sees him as this skinny young “lad” who is riding tashas coattails or something. the minute tasha dosent win immunity shes should be gone.
    my rankings are
    1. tony
    2. spencer
    3. tasha
    4. trish
    5. woo
    6. kass

my wishful prediction for next episode is the brains get woo and trish on board to vote out tony along with kass and spencer and tasha vote out woo so when tony uses his idol woo is the one to go home.

  9. I don’t know what y’all are talking about. Jarryd’s comments are the only ones I thoroughly read.

    • TeamTasha // May 6, 2014 at 9:35 am // Reply

I agree! I really appreciate his analysis most of the time. Billy and Ben’s as well. And Purple Kelly… well, she’s gotten some things right, and she ranked Tasha no. 1 pre-season! So that’s cool. I just wish she would elaborate on her reasoning more; currently her explanations typically only range from zero to one and a half sentences.

Anyway, I think the backlash is probabbly primarily a result of the fact that a lot of us are invested in this S-Oz feature– it’s really a compliment to the guys in charge, I believe.

  10. Thank You Jake and Team Tasha

  11. also props to spencer for pulling 2 sandra moves in one episode. 1 convincing tony to take out one of his own to save himself and 2 if he makes it to the end he will tell jefra that he tried to save her from tony but she didn’t listen.
