PowerRankingsCagayanBillyKelly

For the 28th season of Cagayan we will be once again bringing you our weekly POWER RANKINGS as Ben & Jarryd rank the contestants each week based on performance and strategy and where they are perceived to be in the game! This season we also welcome two special guest POWER RANKERS with Billy Garcia from Survivor Cook Islands and Kelly ‘Purple Kelly’ Shinn from Nicaragua joining in the fun and help rank the contestants! We conclude our rankings for another season with our episode 13 rankings being the last rankings ahead of this weeks season finale and reunion! Click below to see if you agree with how our rankers rate the chances of the final 4!

HOW THE RANKINGS ARE CALCULATED

Each week Ben, Jarryd, Billy & Kelly will rank the remaining contestants based their opinion of where they stand in the game, with the four totals being tallied to produce a total score . The lowest total score will be ranked at the top, with the second lowest in second, third lowest in third and so on and so forth. Each week the overall list will be published, separated into three tribes. It will combine into one list once the tribes merge (or two should there be a tribe dissolve).

SOLARRION RANKINGS

1st – Tony

OVERALL: 1st ()
BILLY RANK: 1st
KELLY RANK: 2nd
BEN RANK: 1st
JARRYD RANK: 1st

BILLY: “- The Silver Tongued Devil blindsided one of his sidekicks in Trish. Well, each of the Survivor Oz Power Ranking staff took turns predicting he would do just that eventually and blamo! It happened! Tony is clearly planning to sit next to Kass at the end. Smartest move ever! Plus he’s got the other players believing that his super powered HII can still be played for another round. And Woo stayed his sidekick even though he knows Tony was gonna blindside him. What? This is how you play Survivor like a cut throat pirate and win! And that’s why my perennial number ranked player finishes my number one ranked player. Because Tony’s gonna win playing a style that only he can win with(Sorry Mr Hantz). All hail the new king of Survivor! May his llama speak touch the hearts of Survivor fans for years to come.”

KELLY: “who played this game better than him. although i didn’t like him 100% of the time i can already say i hope to see him on future season & if he were to win, which he is deserving, i wouldn’t even be mad :)”

BEN: “As I wrote last week, it’s Tony’s game to lose. There are two things though against everyone’s favourite ‘pohleese orfersir’. Firstly if Spencer, Woo and Kass stay together and call him out for his super idol lie and he doesn’t win immunity, he is gone. That’s the first part. The second part is if the jury is THAT bitter against him that no matter who is next to him in a F2/3 situation, he loses. But take away those two scenarios and there is no way he doesn’t win. Out of the four he has played the most strategic, social and physical game and deserves it the most. It hasn’t been perfect by any stretch of the imagination and he has made mistakes and pissed people off along the way. But with who he has to play against, he is standing firmly on top of Survivor mountain right now.”

JARRYD: “His only competition if Spencer so if he gets to the Final Tribal Council he wins hands down for me. Hope he gets up because he has controlled and dominated the game all season long.”

2nd – Spencer

Spencer_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb_thu

OVERALL: 2nd (+2)
BILLY RANK: 4th
KELLY RANK: 1st
BEN RANK: 3rd
JARRYD RANK: 2nd

BILLY: “The Harry Houdini of Survivor is gonna need every bit of magic he can muster to make it to the end. Like Tasha before him, first time he looses the immunity challenge he’s a goner! If Spencer pulls out the miracle win, then the guy who we all thought was going to be one of Survivor’s greatest villains will be remembered as one of Survivor’s greatest heroes….Captain Comeback! But I’m playing the odds with my final rankings and I think our favourite chess player runs out of magic next immunity challenge. I expect to see Spencer play Survivor again at least two more times. And when he does, I’ll be cheering lets go Captain Comeback!”

KELLY: “- because I am not a trader & I want to see him win a million dollars. holllllaaaaa!”

BEN: “Spencer will win this game if he makes it to the final tribal council. There is no doubt in my mind that will be the case. However I don’t think he will make it to the FTC, hence why he comes in third in my rankings this week. I can hear you shouting right now though “BUT IT’S A FINAL THREE SO THAT MAKES HIM AT THE FINAL TRIBAL COUNCIL” which I obviously understand. However, I don’t think it’ll be a F3, I think we’re looking at our first F2 since Tocantins. So that means that Spencer will join the now infamous ‘so near yet so far’ club currently chaired by Lex, Kathy, Rob and the gang. Spencer definitely deserves to win this season, as I think he has played fantastically. The unfortunate thing is though is that he has been one unlucky SOB and that has worked against him all season. Will be one titanic victory if he pulls it off, but for him to do it he can’t let go of that immunity necklace.”

JARRYD: “If Spencer gets to the end, he wins in a landslide. Surely everyone left in the game will know this and try and take him out. Problem is, he’s made Final Three alliances and has killed it in past Immunity Challenges. Would be a fairy-tale if he got to the end but I see him joining the Jury on Day Thirty-eight.”

3rd – Kass

Kass_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 3rd (+2)
BILLY RANK: 2nd
KELLY RANK: 4th
BEN RANK: 2nd
JARRYD RANK: 3rd

BILLY: “Chaos Kass has played a game that will have her remembered for a long time. I don’t think there is anyone left in the game that she can sit next to and win against, which means her spot at the end is pretty much a guarantee. Though I admit everyone left in the game is worthy of being in the final four, Kass has no one on the jury that is pulling for her. Tony has Trish. Spencer has Tasha. Woo likely has LJ. Kass has no one! But lets be honest….the likely scenario of Kass and Tony at the FTC is a good thing. It will most certainly be Survivor comedy gold. Those two can’t co-exist. As negative as that sounds, somehow it’s just entertaining. And I’m sure there is only so much of Tony’s spinning and lying Kass is gonna take. That moment will be awesome!”

KELLY: “that leaves my home girl – although she, to me, is more deserving to be in the final 3 than woo – & would be a smarter move considering the jury definitely won’t likely vote for her – I don’t think it’s going to play out like that. it’s been real watching her play tho & kick booty considering she & spencer came from the underdog team!”

BEN: “Write Kass off at your own peril. I’ve seen every single comment from “she is the worst player of all time” to “she is so delusional and has no clue”. But is that really the case? Weren’t we all deriding her a few episodes ago for the ‘worst move in Survivor history’ when she flipped over to the Brawn crew? Didn’t everyone believe that would signify the end of dear old Kass? Yet somehow she is still here yes? We’ve gotten a handful of Kass strategic confessionals, some of which ever go as far as saying she is taking Tony to the end to beat him (which we don’t really get from Tony about Kass) and you also have to remember she IS a Lawyer. Have we ever had a lawyer at FTC go up against a jury? This is what she does for a living, so she is well equipped to put her argument up for the money. Hell if she calls Probst ‘your honour’ I will do a merry jig! She might not be the most popular contestant this season, but she is easily in the top 5 best players of the season, and possibly even top 3. She is also pure entertainment and a breath of fresh air for the ‘older lady’ stereotype. My absolute dark horse for the win at this point but it wouldn’t shock me at all if she did win.”

JARRYD: “Whatever scenario, she’s going to the end because she won’t win. She’s the most delusion, disgusting player in several seasons and she’s really get a wake up call when the Jury let rip into her. Looking forward to see her under pressure and have no answers to the Jury member’s questions.”

4th – Woo

Woo_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 4th (-1)
BILLY RANK: 3rd
KELLY RANK: 3rd
BEN RANK: 4th
JARRYD RANK: 4th

BILLY: “I really like Woo. But his big move was to aid in blindsiding Trish. Guess what? It’s not HIS big move. It’s Tony’s or it’s Kass’s, but not Woo’s. But at least he’s trying to make a move. How many players in past seasons were too afraid to pull the trigger? Lots. Anywho, I appreciate Woo being such a likeable player but this isn’t the season for a nice guy to win it all. I think he gets blindsided by this being a final two and not a final three. Remember Cirie in Micronesia? I don’t think Woo has figured out it’s a final two. D’oh!”

KELLY: “I picked woo to be third because i think they may go anti girl – similar to my season, 21. besides what better to see a couple of homies in the final 3. & i don’t think be necessarily will win the million because at no point did he seem like a total game changer”

BEN: “For the first time all season Woo showed he knows how to make moves and play the game. WOO! But out of the four left, he has the least likelihood to win. Not saying he can’t win, but he has the longest odds to overcome. I see him in a F3 (should it happen) with Kass and Tony and being the best option to vote for if the jury is bitter like it appears it will be. That brings him the ‘Fabio win’ which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In all honesty Woo hasn’t played a horrible game; he has just played differently to the other three. Yes he hasn’t been strategic and shown ‘game moves’ like we have seen from Tony, Kass & Spencer, but doing what those three have done doesn’t always win you the game. Woo could join the Natalie, Sophie & Fabio crew of being in the right place at the right time and capitalising when it matters the most. To which we will all of course reply with a massive WOO!”

JARRYD: “Hasn’t played much of a game but he’s a really likeable guy and bitter juries vote for really likeable guys. Can’t see him winning but he’s had a Fabio vibe all season so could pull off a massive underdog victory.”

That’s it for another season of Power Rankings! Big thanks to Kelly & Billy for their involvement during Cagayan! We will be back in September for season 29 with some more special guest rankers!

11 Comments on Survivor Cagayan Power Rankings with Billy Garcia & Kelly Shinn – Week 12

  1. I may be in the minority, but I’m so glad at least one of you did not count Kass off. Personally, I would love to see her win. Just to keep up with the unpredictability of this season. Also, I hate it when people leave comments that say this season will be ruined if either Kass or Woo win. If they win, they win. Deal with it (no offense). It won’t take away the awesome-ness of the season.

Great analysis, by the way. Well, except Kelly’s. But it’s fine.

  2. How cannot Kass be put at the bottom when she is the only one who has 0% chance of winning because she is the only one who would lose the vote to anybody?

    My rankings:
    1. Woo
    2. Tony
    3. Spencer
    4. Kass

    • I should have specified that my rankings are purely strategic rankings. If I also take the edit and social network interactions into account, then my rankings become:

      1. Spencer
      2. Woo
      3. Tony
      4. Kass

    • Spencer
      Woo
      Tony
      Kass

Tony can’t play his idol anymore. He lied to Trish. Kass flipped Trish off as she was leaving. That leaves Woo and Spencer in the f2. Woo hasn’t done enough so Spencer will win the game.

My prediction not actually what happened.

  3. i was thinking woo will be the surprise winner but when you think about it woo a winner will be disappointing and i dont see how tony or spencer both lose while being edited as the main playas. just from what i’ve heard i think tony wins. its him and kass in the finals which will be great to see them perform in the final tribal council 🙂

  4. We’ve had a lawyer in the FTC twice. Cochran and Yul. Do I even need to remind you how beautiful their speeches were?

And Jarryd you’re letting your recency bias show through. Kass is much more strategic than a lot of the villains we’ve had. Alicia?!?! Abi-Maria?!? Colton?!? Dawn!? Come on!

  5. i really hope for a Tony/Kass final 2. the most eccentric and fun strategic player in the end. Spencer would be a decent winner but kinda underwhelming compared to a Tony win. Woo being the winner would be a major disappointment. can you imagine his final tribal council speech? BORING. his edit is also very weak and it just shows he’s a nice guy and a loyal puppy of Tony. Very tragic imo as a loyal survivor fan 😦

  6. Kelly’s best rankings in my opinion. Don’t really agree with her comments, but I have to say I think she nailed the order.

Though I personally don’t think he’ll win, Woo deserves better than 4th I reckon. Still has a good shot of winning the last two challenges (I believe the F4 IC involves swimming). If he did this and took Kass to the end he would win hands down, and would possibly have a slight chance against Tony if the jury is bitter. 3rd is more appropriate I think.
