We’re back for another exit interview today as we chat to the tenth contestant eliminated from Survivor San Juan Del Sur Wes Nale! We also bring you a full episode preview of episode 11 & 12, as Noah Groves sits down and takes a look at what you can expect from tomorrow’s double episode of the 29th season! Click below for more!
After his elimination from the tenth episode, Wes Nale sat down with Ben to talk about whether or not he felt he was in danger heading into the tribal council that saw him voted out, why he didn’t accept the idol from his dad when it was offered to him, not working with his dad at the switch and why it worked to be separated from him as well as his relationship with Alec, the big fan following for his dad and whether or not he has been approached to make an appearance at a chicken nugget eating competition since last weeks episode!
Each week with our exit interviews we will also bring you a preview of the upcoming episode, as your favourite Ozlet Noah Groves sits down and gives his thoughts on what you can expect from the show tomorrow!
It is now time to bring back a new feature as I preview what is to come in the next episode airing tomorrow. These previews will use the ‘next time on Survivor,’ commercials, Survivor Live extended preview, deleted scenes and events that happened in the previous episode to look forward and see what is in store for us. Please note that only details learnt in the previously stated list will be discussed, if you consider things like what the challenge will be or who is competing in the dual and hints at people’s actions as a spoiler then you should avoid this feature. In saying that, absolutely no boot spoilers will be stated if somehow CBS slips up but the next voted out will be speculated on.
So what do we have in store for Survivor: San Juan Del Sur episode 11 and 12, ‘Kind of like Cream Cheese and Still Holding On’?
Yes, that’s right we have a two hour episode tomorrow. Double the tribal councils, double the challenges and double the fun!
Let’s start with the challenges, all four of them. The first reward challenge was shown in the “next time on Survivor” and is an old favourite of tribe members eliminating each other through the answering of questions. Given the unpredictable and constant shifting nature of this season, it seems like the perfect time to bring this challenge in. It certainly is going to bring the drama that we are hoping for as well when Baylor cuts Reed’s rope he labels her a bitch in which Baylor’s mother jumps in to defend her as always. This seems like an obvious challenge for Blood vs Water and I am surprised they didn’t include it the first time around. It is also nice to finally see an individual reward challenge over team challenges. The first immunity challenge is sticking to the usual nature of this season being a stationary challenge that involves little skill or psychical ability. Balancing balls on a stick is all that the challenge seems to be but at least we will get some great Jeff comments! The challenges of episode two will be discussed less as examining them in detail may spoil who is still left in the game for the second hour. One challenge in the second episode seems to be standing on a pole with arms above the head and looks so similar to last week’s immunity challenge that it may actually be footage from it. The second one looks like a throwing and knocking down pins that will no doubt lead to a puzzle.
One of the major talking points that is teased in both the “next time on Survivor” preview and the TV promo’s is the feud between dating couple Jon and Jaclyn. These two have been the power couple that have arguably playing the theme of Blood vs Water at its strongest and such a fight is new for them. It is never specified what exactly Jon and Jaclyn are fighting about but it assumingly something to do with the vote and a disagreement on who should go home. Jon and Jaclyn have been edited as this super couple who are the “perfect couple” and given there are now only two couples left this could be disastrous. It is entirely possible that Jon or Jaclyn could turn on one another and vote each other out. The producers would more than likely push it on to one of them to have a recreation of Laura and Ciera. Jon and Jaclyn probably know that if they are both in the finals then they won’t win so maybe they will purposely sacrifice one of themselves. Alternatively this could be one small argument that is being overblown by the previews and won’t affect anything in the game.
This week didn’t feature a Survivor Live preview and the few promos’ that have been released have largely focused on the challenges or the feud between Jon and Jaclyn. Since the departure of Josh and Jeremy some lesser players such as Natalie and Reed have really stepped out and received more air time. Each TV promo for tomorrow’s episodes highlights a clip from Natalie claiming she could flip the game around. I’m still not sure if Natalie is winner material but she certainly is climbing each week and based on how unpredictable this season has been it could easily flip again. She is also the only player left with an idol and it will be interesting to see if it will be played in one of these two episodes or if any other players will find idols. If I had to guess will be voted out tomorrow I would speculate one of them would be an uneventful Alec boot, eliminating the last ‘invisible’ player and a blindside or larger vote in the lines of Josh and Jeremy.
It’s now time to rank every contestant in order of who is most likely to win based mostly on the edit with gameplay as well. Unlike the power rankings which can also be ranked based on week to week performances and immediate futures this is solely chance of winning and is not necessarily where they currently stand or the order in which I think they will be booted. So someone who is ranked low could still become a third placer. This week Jon, Missy and Keith stay in the top three spots, Keith is obviously in the minority but has received a large edit and could easily flip the game, Natalie rises as she has now received an edit and it looks as if tomorrow she will continue on this trend but I am still sceptical of her winning based on the neglect of her character prior, Jaclyn lowers slightly as she continues to get a lesser edit despite making similar moves to her fiancé but her win could potentially happen and Alec and Reed stay in the bottom. Next week’s rankings shall be interesting after losing two players tomorrow.
Episode 11 and 12 ‘Kind of like Cream Cheese and Still Holding On’ will air Wednesday night 8pm EST on CBS in the United States and Thursday at 8:30 PM AEDST on channel Go! in Australia.
Our thanks must go out to CBS and Channel 9 for arranging these exit interviews for us.
