Survivor Cambodia Power Rankings–Week 4

PowerRankingsCambodia_thumb1_thumb_t[2]

For the 31st season of Cambodia we will be once again bringing you our weekly POWER RANKINGS as Ben & Noah are joined by Ozlets Colin & Jarrod to rank the contestants each week based on performance and strategy and where they are perceived to be in the game! We continue our rankings for another week with our episode 4 rankings, which we are sure will cause speculation and debate as we get closer to next weeks episode!

HOW THE RANKINGS ARE CALCULATED

Each week Ben, Noah, Colin & Jarrod will rank the remaining contestants based on their opinion of where they stand in the game, with the four totals being tallied to produce a total score . The lowest total score will be ranked at the top, with the second lowest in second, third lowest in third and so on and so forth. Each week the overall list will be published, separated into two tribes. It will combine into one list once the tribes merge (or two/three should there be a tribe dissolve).

LEADERBOARD

Once again during Cambodia we will be scoring who gets the closest each week with the POWER RANKINGS LEADERBOARD! The ranker who gets their ranking for the previous weeks eliminated contestant will score a point. If they predict the exact finishing position then they will score 2 points. If there are two or more rankers on the same prediction/number, they will both get the said points amount. Here is the leaderboard after this weeks episode:

POS RANKER SCORE
1st Noah Groves 2
= Colin Hilding 2 (+1)
3rd Ben Waterworth 1
= Jarrod Loobeek 1 (+1)

BAYON RANKINGS

1st – Jeremy

JeremyS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 1st (-)
BEN RANK: 1st
NOAH RANK: 2nd
COLIN RANK: 2nd
JARROD RANK: 1st

BEN: “Still the one key player who seems to be in control. Getting a strong edit, has an idol and is leading others astray. Won’t get too excited for him winning given how much SJDS teased us but is in the best position right now.”

NOAH: “Jeremy is doing well in this game, although he hasn’t had to go to tribal council yet though. In both the times he has played he has only attended three tribal councils. Jeremy has the idol and isn’t telling anyone about it which is a good move. He also had Stephen as a number two who he can control with ease and seems to also have Spencer on his side. It seems like he also has a good relationship with the women on his tribe. It seems like an unlikely situation for Jeremy to be voted out before the merge.”

COLIN: “As far as I’m concerned there are two players out there who have already received enough of a positive edit to justify a win, and Jeremy is one of them. The craziest thing is that we’ve yet to see him attend a tribal council! I’m dying to see Bayon lose just to see what Jeremy can do with a vote.”

JARROD: “Despite losing the reward challenge this week we still got to see Jeremy building up bonds with the rest of the tribe. Add to that the fact that he’s keeping the idol for himself and doing a good job of pretending it hasn’t been found and it’ll take something pretty drastic for Jeremy to leave anytime soon.”

2nd – Stephen

StephenS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 4th (+8)
BEN RANK: 6th
NOAH RANK: 4th
COLIN RANK: 8th
JARROD RANK: 5th

BEN: “Stephen is getting into that all too familiar position of working with a strong popular guy and going far but perhaps not getting the respect he deserves. To quote Noah Groves “Stephen is playing like Stephen in Tocantins”. Moving away a little bit from his goofy edit earlier on, I’ll be interested to see how it plays out from here.”

NOAH: “The tribe increase has really benefited Stephen’s game. That is not to say he is in a great position long term or will win the game but for the time being he is doing fine and will probably make the merge. He has now become Jeremy’s Stephen to JT’s Stephen and cements himself as the go to number two guy. Despite this Jeremy is lying to Stephen about the idol and isn’t seeming to put all his eggs into the Fishbach basket. Stephens upped himself but I don’t think he can win the game.”

COLIN: “He finally has someone on his side with Jeremy, but unfortunately their scene is still revolving around Stephen and an idol, which has already put a target on his back. Whether intentional or not, Jeremy has made Stephen a bigger target. It is looking good for Stephen to make the merge though.”

JARROD: “Stephen looks to have found some traction in the game and seems to be really tight with Jeremy.”

3rd – Monica

MonicaS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 8th (+1)
BEN RANK: 5th
NOAH RANK: 11th
COLIN RANK: 4th
JARROD RANK: 11th

BEN: “Monica I have a feeling is slowly getting enough airtime to make her a factor in this game. We got the “I doubt what that person is doing is legit” confessional that was missing from last week with Kelley selling out Deitz, so that to me shows that she’ll possibly be involved in some form of blindside or big strategy move against Spencer at some point. With that added airtime, she’ll slowly make her way into this season.”

NOAH: “Monica’s purple is slowly fading but it is still there. She got one confessional this week and it was her first strategy confessional too! She is thinking long term about a potential women’s alliance and potentially getting Spencer out of the game. She is still is barely being heard from but it is a good mini spike for her this week.”

COLIN: “We finally hear from Monica, and it’s clear she’s thinking hard about the game. What impressed me about Monica wasn’t that she thought of targeting Spencer, or that she’s considering her own options in terms of alliances. What impressed me is that both plans are being considered with patience. If Bayon loses it could come down to Monica vs Jeremy and I’m pretty sure at this point Jeremy wins, but she’s a contender at the moment.”

JARROD: “It was great to see Monica get some screen time this episode though I worry a move against Spencer may split the Bayon tribe down the middle. Hopefully we’ll continue to see more strategy from her in the coming weeks.”

4th – Spencer

SpencerS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 10th (-4)
BEN RANK: 10th
NOAH RANK: 7th
COLIN RANK: 10th
JARROD RANK: 13th

BEN: ”Spencer is still getting the airtime which is fine but he is also getting the doubt confessionals which surely will play into it later on. Not necessarily in a worse position this week than last week considering I’ve dropped him down in the rankings but this still seems like a good spot for him.”

NOAH: “Spencer is working his arse off to make sure he is safe from the vote whenever or if Bayon go to tribal council. He is throwing Wiglesworth under the bus and attempting to integrate himself in with Jeremy, Stephen and the rest of the tribe. He may have done enough to ensure his safety but I can’t put him up higher than this based off Monica’s confessional. Not everyone is buying what he is selling and no doubt the Bayon four will split the votes in case he has an idol. Spencer is either setting himself up well or setting himself up for a major fail.”

COLIN: “His storyline hasn’t changed, and he seems to be slowly making ground. He hasn’t done enough to warrant a higher spot in my rankings this week, but I can see him climbing back to the top if he makes the merge.”

JARROD: “Could we see a Spencer takedown at the hands of Monica? It’s hard to tell, as we have no way to judge how much pull Monica has with her original Bayon tribe mates. The positive for Spencer is that he appears to have formed a solid bond with Jeremy who looks like he’ll be calling the shots should Bayon go to tribal.”

5th – Kimmi

KimmiS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 13th (-2)
BEN RANK: 12th
NOAH RANK: 14th
COLIN RANK: 13th
JARROD RANK: 10th

BEN: “See my answer for Keith. Small reward is we’re getting some airtime from her next week. Such a waste to not see anything from her!”

NOAH: “For god’s sake show us some more Kimmi…PLEASE!!! She is quickly taking Monica’s spot as the purple member of the tribe. She may be around for a while and may not be in a bad position but edit alone suggests Kimmi won’t win this game. Please please please show us more Kimmi next episode.”

COLIN: “Kimmi shouted her way through a challenge this week and still managed to have less screen time than Kass’s friendship necklace. Was she added post-production or something?”

JARROD: “Kimmi has become more invisible than Monica at this point in time which isn’t great for her chances of winning the whole thing but it doesn’t do anything to suggest she’s in trouble soon either. I still feel Kimmi has plenty of options on the Bayon tribe.”

6th – Kelly

KellyS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 14th (-1)
BEN RANK: 14th
NOAH RANK: 12th
COLIN RANK: 14th
JARROD RANK: 15th

BEN: “This lack of edit is making me so fucking furious I want to punch something. SHOW ME WIGLESWORTH! SHOW ME HER! It’s frustrating too because she is seemingly being targeted without having any say in it either which is worrying. And my god if Woo gets saved and Wiglesworth gets voted out, I’m swimming over to the US and getting mad.”

NOAH: “Again she joins the trilogy of people I NEED to see more of! Wiglesworth is not being heard of and she is in trouble. Bayon is a strong tribe but Spencer is throwing her under the bus. However it isn’t a lost cause as Monica seems to want to keep around Kelly over Spencer and if Bayon never go to tribal then she can get back in the majority. I don’t believe Wiglesworth will win this game.”

COLIN: “As far as we can tell Kelly has no ally. Spencer doesn’t seem to have any interest. If Bayon loses it will be between her and Spencer, and we’ve at least seen Spencer make some connections. Sure Monica has voiced some interest in working with Kelly, but we’ve yet to see a single interaction between the two of them, so it’s hard to see that as a possibility at this point.”

JARROD: “Kelly is in a similar spot to Terry in that we haven’t seen her forge any new relationships after the swap. With Angkor so weak the other tribes will probably feel they can cut loose strong competitors which means Kelly’s efforts around camp and at the challenges may all be in vain.”

TA KEO RANKINGS

1st – Kelley

KelleyS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 5th (+5)
BEN RANK: 2nd
NOAH RANK: 6th
COLIN RANK: 9th
JARROD RANK: 7th

BEN: “Has her idol, and is getting those random screen moments to show that she is going deep in the game. Sweet little scene with her and Kass too. She isn’t going anywhere.”

NOAH: “We didn’t see a whole lot from Kelley this week but they are showing her every week in some capacity which is a good sign. She is still in the minority which could come back to hurt her but her tribe is so strong that it probably won’t matter all that much. She seems to have a leg up on Dietz and may have just scored a potential ally in Kass.”

COLIN: “I know she has an idol, but there’s a pretty good chance she’ll have to play it before the merge. She’s not really in with the current Ta Keo, and any older allies from her old Ta Keo are quickly disappearing. Kelley needs a big shake up to stay in the game.”

JARROD: “Got some screen time based on her present from Kass. It’ll be interesting to see if that was solely meant as a moment of growth for Kass or if it could be to show Kelley’s mistrust. Still has the idol and it really feels like she’s solidly with the original Bayon bunch now.”

2nd – Joe

JoeS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 6th (-4)
BEN RANK: 7th
NOAH RANK: 9th
COLIN RANK: 5th
JARROD RANK: 4th

BEN: “Where was the golden boy this episode? He carried a few blocks but then he was invisible from the edit! All the ladies must’ve been so sad!”

NOAH: “Finally we didn’t have an episode that was all about Joey Amazing. But because we didn’t have a bunch of people saying how good he was, we didn’t hear from him. Yep, that is how one dimensional his edit is. Joe performed well in the challenge and is in the majority so he is in a good position for now but will probably be targeted at the merge.”

COLIN: “There is no reason to believe that Joe is going anywhere. My thought pre-season was that he’d never be allowed near the merge. I still think it’s probable that Joe will be picked off soon, but he’s currently in such a comfortable spot I have to rank Joe high.”

JARROD: “A stand out in the challenge yet again, I think it’s still too early for Joe to be a target. Not a whole lot of screen time apart from the challenges though so his strength may well be his downfall further down the line.”

3rd – Kass

KassS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 7th (-)
BEN RANK: 8th
NOAH RANK: 5th
COLIN RANK: 6th
JARROD RANK: 6th

BEN: “She has to be the most impressive player this season based purely on her turn around from her first season. She is just amazing the pants of every Survivor fan out there. Can she win it? I’m still saying no, but this is the woman I was all but certain would be the first boot so perhaps I’ll be proven wrong again.”

NOAH: “Calm Kass, Cool Kass, Cuddly Kass…whatever you want to call her, it seems like Kass is actually changing up her game. I think cautious Kass would be a better name for her though as I don’t fully buy this big shift. She is making allies in the game and has been toned down but let’s not forget she hasn’t had to visit tribal council yet. I think this genuinely could be a turnaround for Kass but people still seem cautious of her turning into her old self. Only time will tell what the legacy of Kass will be.”

COLIN: “I’m more and more surprised by Kass every week. This is the polar opposite of what we expected. I don’t doubt her sincerity, but I worried for a second when she was making the necklace. Even though her kind intentions were clear, its obvious people are still nervous about Kass. I honestly have no idea what will happen with Kass if they lose.”

JARROD: “Kass continues to intentionally distance herself from her game play in Cagayan and she’s being portrayed as a real social player at this point in time. I think the Chaos may come out at some point in time but right now she’s forming key bonds that could get her deep into the game.”

4th – Ciera

CieraS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 9th (-5)
BEN RANK: 9th
NOAH RANK: 8th
COLIN RANK: 7th
JARROD RANK: 8th

BEN: “Ciera sat out the challenge. She has nice hair and seems sweet.”

NOAH: “We didn’t see anything from Ciera this week. Assumingly she is still in the majority and she isn’t a major threat that people want out of the game.”

COLIN: “There are still a few invisible players out there, and Ciera is the one I have the best feeling about in the game. I have nothing to base my ranking on other than that. Being invisible could be a good thing or a bad thing. I’m betting it’s a good thing for Ciera. I am dying to see something out of her.”

JARROD: “Ciera took a bit of a hit in terms of visibility this week but when you’re part of a winning tribe that’s understandable. No real reason for Ta Keo to vote her out so she looks solid right now.”

5th – Keith

KeithS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 11th (-3)
BEN RANK: 11th
NOAH RANK: 13th
COLIN RANK: 12th
JARROD RANK: 9th

BEN: “DAMMIT KEITH CAN’T HEAR YOU KASS! At least we got a small gem from him this episode. BUT WE NEED TO SHOW MORE OF HIM DAMMIT!”

NOAH: “Read Kimmi and apply the same here. I don’t necessarily think Keith is in a bad position but the lack of edit doesn’t speak wonders for his chances and is completely disappointing. I NEED more Keith in my Survivor diet…PLEASE editors PLEASE! Keith could make the merge but he won’t win.”

COLIN: “What is Keith doing there? He’s too entertaining of a personality to be absent for this long, unless he is so far out of the game that it doesn’t even matter to air him.”

JARROD: “It doesn’t look like Keith is going to have a significant impact on this game but you’ve got to love the comedic moments he unintentionally provides. Hoping we see some more great Keith confessionals soon!”

6th – Terry

TerryS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 12th (+3)
BEN RANK: 13th
NOAH RANK: 10th
COLIN RANK: 11th
JARROD RANK: 14th

BEN: “Deitz was great in that challenge but that was all we really got from him. After an impressive start he needs to get his way back into the game.”

NOAH: “We didn’t hear a lot from Dietz this week but he did come second in the Hero reward which got him a bit of screen time and some kudos from his tribe I am sure. He is still seemingly on the bottom but other than that there isn’t much more development. He could easily stick around especially with Ta Keo winning but if they do go to tribal he could be in trouble.”

COLIN: “There is no doubt that Terry is valuable to his tribe as a challenge performer, but time is running out for the tribe portion of this game, and with him being in the minority on his tribe, and Ta Keo being very strong in numbers, they can afford to lose someone. With no idol to protect him, Terry is the obvious choice to go if Ta Keo loses.”

JARROD: “Despite a strong performance from Terry during the hero challenge we haven’t been shown him forming any new connections on post-swap Ta Keo and it still feels like he’s the obvious boot should that tribe go to tribal council. Given how strong Ta Keo are it seems unlikely but anything can happen”

ANGKOR RANKINGS

1st – Tasha

TashaS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 2nd (+1)
BEN RANK: 3rd
NOAH RANK: 1st
COLIN RANK: 1st
JARROD RANK: 2nd

BEN: “Tasha is doing what she can on a weak tribe so for that I will put her up high because if a merge or another switch is to come I feel as though people were take her on board as a strong member of a weak tribe to use as an extra vote. But I don’t think she can necessarily win this game. Tasha seems to excel as a strong voice on a weak tribe but I’m yet to see her really do some damage on a stronger tribe. We’ll see how she goes.”

NOAH: “Tasha has impressed me in the last two weeks of the game. Savage and herself have worked their way to the top of the tribe and she is being viewed in a more positive light than Savage is. While Abi was the controlling vote this week, Tasha and Savage now have control over the vote. No doubt Savage is working hard but it is Tasha’s relationship with Abi which is focused on the most and now she has both Savage and Abi as tight alliances members. Not to mention she voted for Woo to win in Cagayan and appears to have a good relationship with him. Of all the people left on Angkor, Tasha is the least likely to go home. Her position in the game could well change after a swap or merge but for now she is in the prime spot amongst her tribe.”

COLIN: “I’d have a hard time justifying Tasha’s position at the top if she had been on the losing tribe from the beginning, but it does nothing but help her game to continue losing with Angkor. She still has a massive group of post merge allies out there with the old Bayon. She assumed control of her tribe with minimal effort. Most impressively, she reasoned with and controlled Abi-Maria for at least one vote! That’s the greatest accomplishment one can achieve out there.”

JARROD: “While she looked like she might have made a mess of things with Abi early in the episode, Tasha managed to patch things up and has options should Angkor lose again. She’s close to everybody on her tribe and looks to be running the show right now.”

2nd – Savage

SavageS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 3rd (+2)
BEN RANK: 4th
NOAH RANK: 3rd
COLIN RANK: 3rd
JARROD RANK: 3rd

BEN: “Savage is getting a heap of airtime and really getting a ‘sympathy’ edit as well as a ‘tough’ edit too. I like Savage and I love the fact he is getting some decent screen time so I think he will go far. Can he strategically win this game however? Possibly.”

NOAH: “It still blows my mind that Savage and Tasha somehow are in control of the Angkor tribe. Savage has a serious case of crybabyitis which is getting very old very fast. Despite that he is in a good position. He won the Hero Reward challenge which bought him even more props in his tribe. He is tight with Tasha and it is extremely unlikely she will turn on him. He also has allies in Jeremy and Joe whenever there is a swap. At this point unless there is a tribe shuffle, Savage should make the merge.”

COLIN: “I don’t see Savage winning this game, nor do I see him ever calling the shots, but he’s in such a good position, and there’s no way it’s all about Tasha. They both have control of the game, and unless tasha plans a blindside against Savage (which makes no sense) he’s in a really good position for a potential long term game.”

JARROD: “Savage turned out to be the hero in the reward challenge and along with Tasha he’s enjoying being on the top of the pecking order at Angkor. In terms of challenge strength there’s no sense in taking Savage out of the game at this point in time and he’s definitely sitting pretty right now.”

3rd – Abi-Maria

AbiMariaS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 15th (-1)
BEN RANK: 15th
NOAH RANK: 15th
COLIN RANK: 16th
JARROD RANK: 12th

BEN: “Oh Abi. You can’t say she isn’t entertaining. But my lord she must be terrible to deal with out there sometimes. I love me Abi. A lot. And far more than simply having money on her. But Tasha and her reactions summed it up this episode. I think if Angkor keep losing and there is no merge or switch, she is treading very fine water to stay in the game.”

NOAH: “Abi has this weird knack of often being in control. She is the most unique goat in Survivor history. Abi is in the majority alliance but is volatile and while she may have had a sway this week, Tasha and Savage are now in control. Abi could well be kept around but I can definitely see Woo being kept over her. Abi Maria won’t win this game.”

COLIN: “Abi-Maria’s value to the duo of Tasha and Savage was her loyalty as an extra number, nothing more. They got past this vote staying in control of who went home, but I don’t see Tasha and Savage having any need for her now that they have control. I may be crazy to say this, but I see it more likely they will take Woo over Abi.”

JARROD: “Although it’s clear that Abi is getting on Tasha’s nerves I think she’s going to be able to stick around purely for goat potential. I think it could be telling that it was made to look like Abi was making the decision about the vote when really her vote wouldn’t have mattered either way.”

4th – Woo

WooS31_thumb1_thumb_thumb_thumb

OVERALL: 16th (+1)
BEN RANK: 16th
NOAH RANK: 16th
COLIN RANK: 15th
JARROD RANK: 16th

BEN: “Stole Varner’s spot. I feel like this is purely out of anger. But it’s not. Angkor lose next week, and he is gone.”

NOAH: “Woo survived this vote but he isn’t in a comfortable position. While he has the strength for the tribe and a potential ally in Tasha, Abi still doesn’t trust him and he is on the outs. If Angkor loses then Woo has a small chance of being kept in the game because of challenge strength but there is no way he will win the game.”

COLIN: “He’s more valuable than Abi-Maria in future challenges, and despite his wishy washy reputation, he’s slightly more predictable than Abi, which makes him slightly more valuable as an ally.”

JARROD: “It was brilliant to see some fight from Woo this episode and he’s made a real point of standing up for himself this season. While his strength kept him around last time, Angkor has to feel that another swap could be coming soon so it’s not imperative that he sticks around.”
